McFly Get Up Close And Personal

Last updated: Tuesday, 24 February 2009, 09:00.

Following their sell-out arena tour last November, McFly have announced a string of smaller, intimate dates across the UK this Spring, taking them to theatre-sized venues across the country.
More accustomed to huge audiences in arenas around the world, McFly savour the rare opportunity to thank their most loyal fans at smaller shows. Setting out on April 21st at Wolverhampton Civic Hall, McFly will then call at Blackpool, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Portsmouth, London, Southend, Ipswich, Croyden, Oxford, Manchester and Leicester.
American Idol runner-up David Archuleta is the Special Guest on all dates.
Tickets for the shows are on sale at 9:00am, this Saturday 28th February and will be available here.

Stars come out for world’s biggest bring-and-buy sale at Lakeside
CELEBS rubbed shoulders with bargain hunters at Lakeside as they took part in the world’s largest charity bring-and-buy sale. Actress Connie Fisher, winner of the How to Solve a Problem like Maria, was among the famous names who joined the Blue Peter team for the live broadcast from the shopping centre’s packed central atrium. The event was organised in association with Save the Children to raise money to pay for children’s meals across the world. While hundreds of shoppers craned their necks to grab a glimpse of their favourite stars, many others were focusing on bargains in the massive sale. Among the items up for grabs were several items donated by celebrities. These included a signed copy of McFly’s latest album, a large signed photo of Olympic cycling hero Chris Hoy and a joke book autographed by comedian Harry Hill.
Other stars at the event included former Busted band member Matt Willis and actor Ben Walker from the Golden Compass film. Matt Willis said: “I’m so excited to be taking part in this amazing event. I’m hoping to pick up a signed Harry Hill joke book. Together we can help raise money to help children around the world eat and grow better food.”
Southend’s very own Youth Symphonic Wind Band were also at the event to provide musical accompaniment for the sellers and shoppers. The giant second-hand sale is part of the BBC1 programme’s Mission Nutrition campaign to put two million meals on plates for children around the world. The money raised will go to providing daily meals for children in Bangladesh, Colombia and South Africa through Save the Children. The money will also help children in those countries and the UK learn to cook for themselves.

MCFLY announce second Sydney show due to overwhelming demand
McFly’s return to Australia in 2009 is proving to be one of the most anticipated events of the year.
February 18, 2009, 12:03 PM

With all tickets to their February 27 Metro Theatre gig already sold out, these UK lads have confirmed a second performance on Sunday 15 March. To date, every headline show McFly have announced in Australia has sold out and their new Metro Theatre date will be no exception.
We’ve tried time and again to introduce McFly to a new Australian audience, but every time we’ve announced a show it’s sold out in a snap. If you get in fast enough this time around, March 15 will be the day you fully realize the wonder of McFly: the UK’s best kept secret.

McFly first found fame as teenagers in 2004, as the quartet’s debut album achieved double-platinum status in their homeland - beating The Beatles to the title of youngest British band ever to debut at #1. Like all great guitar groups, McFly make rock music pinned on pop melodies.

Five years after they formed, still at the average age of only 22, McFly took the bold step of leaving the major label they used to call home, setting up their own self-financed indie label, Super Records, and releasing their fifth studio album Radio:ACTIVE, independently.

McFly mix their love of vintage rock with a British twist on the modern punk-pop sound they share with American acts such as Green Day, Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy. Like the songs on the album, the band is bursting with energy every second they’re on stage.

Please visit frontiertouring.com for pre-sale details. Tickets on sale Monday 23 February.

From the Japanese interviews (in the blog post before this one).

They plan to hopefully record the album in Austrlia like they did with Radio:ACTIVE.

Tom says it's 60% finished in terms of songwriting.

My facebook link

Some people have been asking for it.

Search me under 'Brucie Jones' and this is my default

Be warned!
I accept pretty much everyone, unless you're somebody that has annoyed me in a past life.

And anybody that sends me group invites, cause invites etc. gets deleted. No warning, just deletion. They're stupid and annoying. If I want to support a band or charity I'll find it myself.

***THIS INCLUDES INVITES FOR McFLY GROUPS***

The other Bruce Jones, Flea-Lee Poynter and Presley Poynter-Sandford are crap copycat profiles and are not endorsed by or connected to myself. Or McFly for that matter.

Here's 'Presley's' profile (as seen on McFly Secrets)

They said it's different people running the Flea and Presley ones but I don't think so because they're both equally as rubbish. And so's the Bruce one.

Don't be fooled into thinking they're run by Dougie or Danny or anybody in touch with McFly because they're not.

Get well soon Dave

Dave Hunter from Reemer (McFlys' support act on the Radio:ACTIVE tour) is ill with nodules. It's quite a serious thing for a singer to contract (their worst nightmare actually) and he can't rush his recovery through in a couple of days like a simple sore throat. If he does and sings through it instead of resting his voice it could stop him singing for good, it is that serious. He feels like rubbish and he feels like he's let everyone down because it's the start of their tour.

So please be patient with cancelled/rescheduled gigs and let the lads know you support them whatever happens at http://www.myspace.com/reemerband

They had interviews for TV in the morning.
For lunch, they had OKONOMIYAKI (popular dish in Osaka)
First they thought OKONOMIYAKI was pretty weird
but they seemed to liked it.
But their favorite is YAKIUDON(noodles)!
Btw they are really good at usuing chopsticks!
After lunch, they went shopping to AMERICA-MURA.
Looks like everyone had a great time there!!
Tomorrow they're performing at Auto Messe.
We'll write about it tomorrow:)

How cool is that?

This is what it says. I'll try and get it translated to English. Apologies if I typed it wrong (without the accented letters).

McFLY

McFly in Alan Carr's autobiography

Posted by southendgirl on the official forum.

As it happened, I was sharing a dressing room with McFly. They are lovely boys, but in their skinny-fit jeans and spiky hair they made me feel very old. My hair was beginng to recede around that time in November 2005 - I noticed it in the reflection of Cliff Richards veneers. It had started slipping back down my head like a rug on a highly polished floor, but thank-fully with a bit of hair wax I could still fool people into thinking I had a fringe. Just as I was feeling old, watching McFly coolly strum their guitars without a care, their manager came in and told the boys off for eating to many jelly beans.
"If you have too many E numbers, you'll be bouncing off the walls."
Who says rock 'n' roll is dead?

And to match your McFly skirt...

McFly shoes...

***THESE SHOES ARE NOT OFFICIAL MERCHANDISE, THEY ARE NOT ENDORSED BY McFLY, THEIR MANAGEMENT OR RECORD LABEL SUPER RECORDS LTD.***

This was posted by ghostparty on the official forums. Go and PM her if you're interested in a pair.
1. SIGN UP TO THE FORUM AT www.mcfly.com
2. GO TO THE THREAD IN 'GENERAL McFLY CHAT' ABOUT 'McFLY SHOES' OR CLICK THE LINK IN MY BLOG THAT SAYS 'HERE'.
3. CLICK ON THE THREAD STARTER'S USERNAME WHICH IS ghostparty.
4. SEND THEM A PERSONAL MESSAGE STATING SHOE SIZE, COLOURS ETC.
5. IF YOU LIVE IN THE UK THE MAKER IS WILLING TO ACCEPT PAYMENT BY CHEQUE, POSTAL ORDER (get these at your local post office but they charge you for this, like currency exchange) OR PAYPAL.
6. IF YOU LIVE OVERSEAS THE ONLY PAYMENT SHE WILL ACCEPT IS PAYPAL.

Okay, so, a while ago I handpainted a pair of McFly shoes for a friend of mine. She wore them to one of their recent gigs and apparently quite a lot of people asked her where she got them from, so I figured I'd put a post up here and see whether anybody is interesting in having me make them a pair.

I don't have a picture of the ones I originally made for her, so this is a picture of a pair that I quickly painted just now to give everyone an idea of what I mean. I did them pretty roughly and so they're NOT great. Any I do to order will be a lot better.

Picture Two LINK

I'll make them to order, so you can have them anyway you like. i.e.:

* You can choose the colour of the design.
* You can have them on either white shoes or black shoes, though if you choose black the design can only be in white, silver or gold.
* You can choose the size. (Obviously.)
* You can have them quite subtle like the ones above, so that it's not immediately apparent that it's the McFly logo. Or you can have it clearer.
* You can have it with or without the mic logo, with or without stars, or with some other sort of detail you have in mind. It's entirely up to you.

They're painted with proper colour-fast fabric paints and then sprayed with an acrylic sealant, so it's not going to come off at all. I'm not really looking to make much money from them, so I was thinking £10 including postage and packaging? After the cost of the shoes and the postage there's not a lot of profit in it. I'm just seeing if anybody would like some since so many people were apparently asking about them.

Thanks!

P.S. Mods, if this is entiiiirely against the rules, just delete it. <3

EDIT : I can do other bands, too!

McFLY in Japan..
They're in Osaka today and did rehearsals for the show on 15th.

It's gonna be a really exciting show!!

They also did some radio stuffs! They played POV (acoustic) at the studio:)

and they had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe.

They also did meet and greet for the fans in Osaka!

It was for fans who bought "Radio;Active" CD or McFLY goods (like Lunch bags ).

It seems that today was a really busy day for them.

AND Today, we went to the UNIQLO shop where McFLY went yesterday! The one at the Tokyo station.

and we asked the clerk what they bought!

Actually, only Danny bought.

He bought 4 t-shirts!Two S size and Two M size!Two for 990yen.

It seems like Danny and Dougie wore it today!(i'm not sure if its the one they bought in uniqlo)

The clerk told us that Danny was finding for a jeans, but the store at the Tokyo station is small ,so maybe he's going to the other store.

We'll write everyday so,

Keep on Checking !

and take a look at some pitures!!

xx
